The Circuit des vignes à Cerdon is a moderately difficult 7.4-kilometre circular hiking trail starting in Cerdon and leading to the ruins of the former Saint-Alban church. The medieval remains of the former Saint-Alban church are located on rocks above the Cerdon Valley. The trail is freely accessible all year round. From the former church site, there is a view of Cerdon, the vineyards and the Culaz waterfall.

Culture and history

The Saint-Alban priory complex was built in the 12th century. The Château de Jean de la Balme in Mortaray dates back to 1376. The ruins of the medieval Château de Bôches are associated with the Thoires family.

Brasserie Grange Noire produces all-malt beers that are neither pasteurised nor filtered and undergo secondary fermentation on the yeast in the bottle. By prior arrangement, it offers direct sales, tours and tastings in Saint-Alban.

Domaine de l'Eperon is located on a rocky spur above Cerdon and the Ain Valley. At the wine cellar, tastings are offered of two cuvées of sparkling Cerdon rosés made from Gamay and Poulsard, as well as white and red wines; visits are only possible by prior reservation.

Balades Apéro Sunset Dînatoire offers three routes suitable for beginners, each lasting 45 minutes. The offer includes three wines produced by Daniel and a platter of cured meats and cheese.
