Several types of fishing permits are available in Pont-d'Ain. The circular route “le Tour du Mont Olivet” is approximately 9.8 kilometres long, allows visitors to discover the cultural heritage and involves around three hours of walking as well as 187 metres of elevation gain. From the footbridge, the route then continues along the road towards the Romanesque church of Notre Dame-de-l’Assomption.
L'Esquimaude offers departures from Pont-d'Ain for trips on the Ain by canoe, kayak, solo stand-up paddleboard or Big Sup for groups, as far as the first rapids of the Rhône. Several water routes starting from Pont-d'Ain have lengths of 5.7, 13, 22 and 32 kilometres.
Food and Cuisine
Pont-d'Ain's weekly market takes place under the market hall on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is held in all seasons. The weekly market includes, among others, bakers, poultry sellers, charcutiers, fishmongers, cheesemongers, and fruit and vegetable sellers.
Culture and History
The Chapel of the Catherinette dates from 1845 and replaced earlier buildings associated with the castle. The Abbaye Notre Dame d'Ambronay is located in the surrounding area. The historic site of Allymes Castle and the Château de la Bécassinière are also nearby.

The Grotte de la Colombière cave is located in the surrounding area. The Mont de l'Échaud mountain, the Montagne de Ratelier mountain and Mont Luisandre are also located nearby.
The banks of Quai Justin Reymond can be explored; raftsmen stopped there before the dams were built.
