Nature
From Mionnay, the Marais des Échets can be accessed via various agricultural tracks. The natural area was created by draining a lake in a glacial depression covering around 1,000 hectares. A wide variety of animal and plant species can be observed there, including deer, wild boar, foxes, herons, wild ducks, kingfishers, frogs and dragonflies.
Culture
The Church of Saint John the Baptist was rebuilt between 1866 and 1878 on the site of an earlier Romanesque church by the Lyon architect Jean-Marie Emile Thoubillon. It has a nave with a transept, a bell tower above the portal and a groin-vaulted apse.
The Chartreuse de Polleteins is also part of the local history: the main part of the outbuildings of the former charterhouse now forms the Ferme de Polleteins. The history of the Chartreuse de Polleteins dates back to the 13th century.

Routes
The Circuit du Bois des Pommes à l'étang Dimanche loop trail is 7 kilometres long and classified as easy. As a nature walk, it combines dirt tracks and forest paths. The loop trail is located at Mionnay SNCF railway station.
