Massignieu-de-Rives is located on Lac du Lit au Roi, an extension of the Rhône’s course. The port of Massignieu-de-Rives has 125 berths and is situated directly on the ViaRhôna.

Landscape
Due to its varied topography, Massignieu-de-Rives offers numerous viewpoints of the Bugey and Savoy reliefs as well as the Rhône Valley.
Cycling
The “Boucle des deux rives du Rhône” cycling route begins at the port of Massignieu-de-Rives. It is just under 20 kilometres long, has no change in elevation and runs almost exclusively along cycle paths.
Culture
The former presbytery is located along the route from the port towards the hamlet of Ecrivieux. It is designed in the Renaissance style and features stepped gables, mullioned windows and accolade arches. The Saint Roch Chapel contains a small oratory from 1930, actually dedicated to Notre Dame du Bon Secours.
The Lavoir des Ecrivieux in the hamlet of La Poissonnière was supplied by a spring that provided water for the trout reserve of the Lord of Rochefort. The surviving remains of the Château des Ecrivieux include a tower, its spiral staircase, mullioned windows and a large hall with a French beam ceiling. The Château des Ecrivieux was the seat of the Ecrivieux lordship in the 14th century.
The stone Fontaine Paccard served as a fountain and livestock watering trough. The Church of Saint Martin was built in 1838 and incorporated part of the former church in Ecrivieux.
Wine and produce
EARL Caveau Dufour produces red and white Bugey wines. The vineyards of Caveau Quinard in Massignieu-de-Rives have been farmed organically since 2010; free wine tastings are offered at Caveau Quinard. At La Planche, red fruit can be picked directly in the garden by visitors themselves.
