Culture and History
Two different testimonies form part of the architectural and seigneurial history: Château de Grilly is a former 13th-century castle and was the centre of the Lordship of Grilly until 1789. Château de la Tour de Grilly, on the other hand, is a fortified house dating from the 15th century; it was restored in the 18th and 21st centuries. Its façades and roofs, as well as the two fireplaces on the first floor, have been partially protected as historic monuments since 18 February 1971.
The painting “Saint Blaise guérissant un enfant” is located in the right side chapel of the Church of Saint Benedict in Grilly. The work is an oil painting on canvas with a wooden frame and was registered as a protected object in 1982.
The Pont de Grilly, also known as Pont Bugnon, is a stone bridge over the Versoix on the French-Swiss border between Grilly and Chavannes-des-Bois. A wooden predecessor of the Pont de Grilly connected Gex with the port of Coppet and has been documented since 1564.
Nature and Trails
The Marais de la Versoix Sensitive Natural Area is located on the French side in the municipalities of Divonne-les-Bains and Grilly. The protected area comprises three wetlands connected to springs and the Divonne River. The Marais de la Versoix are home to high biodiversity associated with the wetland, as well as remarkable species and habitats.
At the summit of Mont Mourex there is a stone circle with a circumference of 145 m and a diameter of 47 m; the site may once have been associated with sun worship. The Gex–Divonne greenway is shared by pedestrians, including those with dogs, and cyclists.

The Fromagerie de Grilly is a traditional cheese shop and advises customers on 350 cheese varieties. The Restaurant des Bergers serves home-cooked food including fondues, Malakoff and other cheese specialities. Every Sunday, the Restaurant des Bergers also offers a farmers’ brunch.
