For cross-country skiing, Giron is the starting or finishing point of the Grande Traversée du Jura and is connected to the Hautes Combes areas by a link.

Culture

The church of Giron-Devant was restored in 1902 and is considered a symbol of the municipality's religious and administrative autonomy. Giron's village heritage also includes the traditional architecture of the farmhouses, washhouses, fountains and preserved ecclesiastical furnishings.

Giron is situated on pastureland at an altitude of 1,000 metres. Its pastoral landscape offers expansive views, spectacular sunsets and impressive night skies. The forests and pastures of Giron are home to well-preserved flora and fauna; the Champfromier-Giron forest is also a habitat of the capercaillie.
