Artemare: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Massif de Fierloz is located in the municipality of Artemare and covers 74 hectares. It is open to the public and has interpretation panels. A hiking trail leads through the Massif de Fierloz.

Nature

The nature trail “Le Tour du Fierloz” is a circular route of approximately 4 kilometres associated with Artemare. On the Tour du Fierloz, there are several viewpoints near the Vierge du Fierloz offering views over the Valromey and of the Massif du Grand Colombier.

The hike through the Gorges de Thurignin starts in Artemare and is signposted with yellow and yellow-red markings, as well as stickers marked GT. The “Pied du Grand Colombier” hike starts in Artemare; it follows yellow and yellow-red markings, as well as stickers bearing the initials PDC.

The Cascade de Cerveyrieu is 60 metres high.

Activities

The Centre Équestre d'Artemare offers riding lessons from the age of five through adulthood. There are also guided walks leading horses by the reins from the age of two, as well as full-day rides. Participants in the full-day rides must be able to independently master all three gaits.

Artemare is one of four starting points for cycling climbs to the Col du Grand Colombier; the other starting points are Culoz, Anglefort and Champagne-en-Valromey. The cycling climb to the Col de la Lèbe starts in Artemare and is 12.4 kilometres long.

Culture

The cultural trail “Si Artemare m'était conté” has nine interpretation panels. The church of Artemare was built between 1844 and 1847.
