The Caveau du Gigondas welcomes visitors year-round for tastings of Gigondas wines from all producers in the appellation. More than 100 Gigondas cuvées are available there for tasting and purchase.

Nature

The Dentelles de Montmirail reach an altitude of 630 metres at the Rocher du Turc and form a landscape strongly shaped by geology.

The ZNIEFF “Dentelles de Montmirail” includes the municipality of Gigondas. Its Mediterranean vegetation includes holm oak stands, Aleppo pine forests, garrigue with kermes oaks and rosemary, as well as juniper matorral.

A footpath with botanical terraces, wild vines, old grape varieties and Mediterranean plants leads up to the summit area.

Culture and History

Since 1994, the upper medieval village of Gigondas has been home to a permanent sculpture trail featuring semi-monumental sculptures and installations by French and international artists.

The Gigondas Hospice was built on the site of a former feudal castle, which was surrounded by fortification walls. The hospice in Gigondas was established in 1678.

The Chapelle Saint-Cosme dates from the 12th century and has Romanesque apses. Gigondas is surrounded by medieval town walls.

Getting Around

A guided cycling tour starts in Sablet and leads to Gigondas.
