Vins-sur-Caramy and its Château are situated on a rocky spur above the Caramy valley. From the banks of the Caramy, views open up over the Vieux pont and the Château amid the Provençal landscape and cypress trees.
Culture and History
The Vieux pont is a humpback bridge with three vaulted arches. It was built in the 1660s to replace an earlier medieval wooden bridge and has been listed as a French historic monument since 2 February 1931.
The known origins of the Château de Vins date back to the first half of the 16th century. The Château combines features of a medieval fortress with residential architecture typical of the Renaissance.
A walk through the village leads from the church square to the square near the Château. There is also a free, geolocated audio-guided tour for exploring the local cultural heritage.

Festivals and Traditions
The Saint Vincent tradition is celebrated in Vins-sur-Caramy every year on 22 January in honour of the patron saint of winegrowers. Since 1986, the celebration has included a procession through the village streets decorated in the Provençal colours of red and yellow, with participants wearing Provençal costumes.
During the Saint Vincent celebration or at the end of the grape harvest, a large loaf of bread is blessed in the church and shared among the winegrowers. Following the Saint Christopher Mass in July, motorists and their vehicles are blessed.
Cultural Programme
Candlelit tours take place at the Château de Vins in July and August. Various cultural activities are also held there, including concerts, exhibitions and artist residencies, as well as events in the fields of visual arts, music and dance.
