Nature
The “Balade autour de la presqu’île” route takes around four hours. It leads along varied, scenic coastal sections with numerous pine trees above the shoreline and offers views of Cap Sicié and Les Deux Frères.
The landscape is also varied underwater: the underwater area of Saint-Mandrier features numerous sculptural-looking rocks, steep drop-offs and caves, as well as remarkable biological diversity.
Activities
The Centre Nautique de Saint-Mandrier offers water sports activities for children aged four and over, young people and adults of all levels – from recreational sports and introductory sessions to competitions. Saint-Mandrier Plongée offers introductory dives, training courses and exploration dives.
Culture
The Cimetière franco-italien is a national necropolis with the graves of soldiers from the First World War and Italian soldiers from the Second World War. The cemetery is open free of charge every day year-round from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Chapelle Saint-Louis ou chapelle des Mécaniciens is a neoclassical chapel in Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer. It can only be visited by appointment during the Heritage Open Days.
Local life
At Creux Saint-Georges, Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer has a small fishing port and marina. The port of Saint-Mandrier usually hosts Provençal jousting competitions and training sessions. The town’s summer traditions also include the “Le Vire vire” Latin sailing race.
The Fête de la Saint-Pierre is a traditional festival celebrating the fishermen. The Grand Market is an open-air market at the marina and in the village lanes, featuring local products, Provençal flavours, handicrafts and regional specialities.
