The medieval Chemin des Roys in Plan-d'Aups-Sainte-Baume was opened in 1295 and is lined with seven oratories. The path begins near the Trois Chênes car park and leads to the grotto in approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

Nature
The Sainte-Baume state forest covers more than 2,000 hectares. Its undergrowth is home to a very high level of biodiversity. The natural area also includes the sensitive La Brasque area, which covers 88 hectares and is managed for public access, protection and conservation of the area.
Culture
The Chapelle des Parisiens, also known as the Chapelle des Morts, was built in 1636 and restored in 2007. The Sainte-Baume sanctuary, including the Grotte de Marie-Madeleine and the Chapelle du Saint-Pilon in Plan-d'Aups-Sainte-Baume, was listed as a historic monument by decree of 24 July 2025. From the Chapelle du Saint-Pilon, the 360-degree view extends over the Mediterranean as far as the Provençal hinterland. The Allée Royale also offers views of the Sainte-Baume rocks, the Grotte de Marie-Madeleine and the Chapelle du Saint-Pilon.
The altar stone of the Holy Virgin in Plan-d'Aups-Sainte-Baume comes from a Gallo-Roman temple dedicated to the goddesses who protected the water of Plan-d'Aups. The former Béthanie monastery was built against a rock face; Christian educational sessions for all age groups are offered there and are open to families and groups.
The Espace Le Corbusier displays original sketches signed by Le Corbusier. The Espace Tourisme et Découverte de la Sainte-Baume – CIAP features a permanent, interactive exhibition on the historical and natural heritage of the Sainte-Baume massif.
Hiking and views
The GR 9 and the Chemin du Canapé can be accessed near the Hostellerie. They offer an alternative route to the grotto, with a walking time of approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
The route to Pic de Bertagne is a difficult four-hour circular hike covering 9.9 kilometres. It offers a panorama stretching from the Mediterranean to the Alps.
Two picnic tables adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility are available on the Allée Royale.
