Le Lavandou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In the Saint-Clair district, the Chemin des peintres leads through the town’s art history over a distance of 2.5 kilometres. The cultural trail is lined with colourful reproductions of paintings created in Le Lavandou.
Anyone choosing Le Lavandou for their holiday may want to find a holiday apartment there.
Culture
The Saint-Louis church was built in 1855 through a fundraising campaign. Since summer 2009, its choir has been adorned with a fresco in the tradition of icon-painting monks; it also contains the stained-glass window “Vierge de Pitié”.
The Villa Théo is located in the Saint-Clair district and was the former home of the neo-Impressionist painter Théo Van Rysselberghe. It is part of Le Lavandou’s cultural and historical heritage, is open to the public as an art centre and presents various permanent and temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
The Fête de la Saint-Pierre is Le Lavandou’s traditional fishermen’s festival and takes place every year with the participation of Le Lavandou’s fishermen, the SNSM and recreational boaters. The festival includes a procession to the port of Le Lavandou and a blessing of the boats at sea.
Cycling
The former railway line of the “Train des Pignes” has been converted into an 8-kilometre-long, safe cycle path accessible to everyone. It runs along the coast from Le Lavandou to Pramousquier and is particularly suitable for families.
The Piste cyclable du littoral – V65 also passes through Le Lavandou.
Experiences
The Restanques de Saint-Clair can be visited and explored all year round. During the national “Rendez-vous aux jardins” event, the Le Lavandou tourist office organises guided tours there every year.
The ancient Noria of the Restanques de Saint-Clair was fully restored to working order in June 2018.
The Marché Provençal du Lavandou takes place every Thursday morning and offers regional produce, Provençal specialities and handicrafts.
Boat trips depart from the Port du Lavandou, allowing visitors to admire the coastal landscapes of Le Lavandou.
