Culture and history

The Église Saint-Michel is a historic monument and was built between the late 12th and early 13th centuries. The Chapelle des Pénitents dates from 1482 and was listed as a historic monument by decree of 31 March 1976. It is open free of charge all year round.

The eastern apse of the Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Queste features the Stations of the Cross in 14 panels. The panels are executed in oil on canvas, on painted wood and in plaster.

The Musée du Patrimoine is housed in a former oil mill and a former cork workshop. It displays a collection of objects from everyday life in the 19th century.

The Moulin Saint-Roch was renovated in the 1990s; its mechanism, sails and roof were restored during the work. The grounds are accessible all year round, while the interior can only be visited as part of free guided tours conducted by the culture and heritage service.

Nature and trails

The “Vallon du pont des Fées” trail is located in the heart of the Massif des Maures. The 1.3-kilometre, moderately difficult circular hiking route begins in Grimaud and takes 45 minutes.

The Pont des Fées preserves the remains of an aqueduct built in the 15th century that carried water from the Pan Caou spring to Grimaud. It can only be reached on foot via a steep, rocky path.

Events

Since 2003, Les Grimaldines has combined world music and street arts in Grimaud. For its events, the festival uses the streets of the village of Grimaud as an open-air venue.
