The collegiate church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption was built at the end of the 15th and beginning of the 16th century on the site of an earlier chapel dedicated to Saint Peter. It has a polychrome marble high altar dating from 1772, a wrought-iron bell tower from 1626, and an organ built by Charles Royer between 1668 and 1670, which is classified as a historic monument. The reliquary arm of Saint Peter dates from 1526 and contains a relic from the saint’s arm.

The Chapelle Saint-Louis in the hamlet of Valcros was built from 1723 to 1724 and can only be viewed from the outside. A few metres away stands a mulberry fig tree planted in 1848, known as the “Arbre de la Liberté”.

Regional traditions

The Mur à abeilles on the Piste des Basses Sambalettes is an 18th-century bee wall with niches for up to 25 beehives. The Moulin des cinq ponts preserves screw presses, millstones and a waterwheel from its historic olive mill equipment. It has existed as an olive cooperative since 1920 and produces AOC olive oil from pitted olives from olive groves in Cuers and the surrounding area.

The Cuers tourist office offers a free guided tour of the Cuers terroir, focusing on local craftsmanship and viticultural expertise. The traditional Saint-Louis festival includes a procession, an aioli meal, a pétanque competition and musical performances.
