Culture and History

The Église de l’Annonciation was built in 1594 and extended in 1678. Inside are three altarpieces from the 17th century. The furnishings also include the wooden side entrance door from the 17th century, which is listed as a protected feature, as well as the baptismal fonts from the 16th century, which are listed as protected features. The Chapelle Saint-Pierre has an apse with a basket-handle arch plan.

Landscape and Nature

The Natura 2000 site encompasses the Nartuby Valley and the Gorges de Châteaudouble in a high-quality natural landscape. The Tour de guet offers views of rocks and wild landscapes. The Route des gorges – Circuit 08 provides a panorama of the gorges from Châteaudouble. It runs for over 22 km to Châteaudouble.

Places to Visit

The Tour Sarrazine, also known as the Tour Neuve, rises above the Belvédère. The Terrain d’Arts de Za features a permanent open-air exhibition.

Rebouillon can be reached on foot from Châteaudouble via the Chemin des Avals, which begins at the Moulin des Avals. Rebouillon is home to a small château with two square pavilions. The village was long known for its onion production; this distinctive feature lives on in local memory.

La Pastourelle offers free tours every day. Visitors can watch the milking there. More than 30 varieties are produced at the La Pastourelle farm.
