The 4B9 locomotive was built in 1893 and operated in Carnoules from 1918 to 1930.
Since 1979, the 4B9 locomotive has stood at the western entrance to Carnoules, commemorating the town’s railway history.
From the Notre-Dame de la Vière chapel, the panoramic view stretches from the Maures mountain range to the outskirts of Toulon, across the wine-growing plain of the Golden Triangle terroir.
The Notre-Dame de la Vière chapel, also known as Notre-Dame de Bon Secours, stands on a rocky promontory at an altitude of 350 metres.
