Artignosc-Sur-Verdon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lac d’Artignosc is a small lake created by the Quinson reservoir. From the Base nautique d’Artignosc, an 8 km route leads through gorges and lakes towards the Barrage de Sainte-Croix.

Culture and History

The Église Notre-Dame houses the polychrome, gilded wooden statue “Enfant Jésus tenant le globe terrestre”, dating from the 18th century. The Château des de Thoron features structural elements that can be dated to the period from the 14th to the 17th century.

The Lavoir du village is a rectangular building measuring 8 m × 5 m, with three limestone basins. The Moulin du Pesquier is a 16th-century grain mill that was repaired in 1789. The Moulin de Vallefont dates from the 17th century and was built on the ruins of an earlier mill.

The Chapelle Saint-Christophe, at the edge of the village towards the lake, already existed in 1643. The Chapelle la Trinité also already existed in 1643. The bourg castral d’Artignosc at Saint-Estève is an archaeological site whose main construction phase took place in the 13th century.

Font Vieille is a 17th-century fountain with clay pipes and was the village community’s oldest water supply.

Landscape and Trails

The Belvédère sur les Gorges d’Artignosc offers a view of the Verdon as it flows towards Lac de Quinson. The Point de vue sur le Pont et le Lac d’Artignosc offers views of the bridge and Lac d’Artignosc; from there, you can see the Vallon des Grignolets flowing into the course of the Verdon.

The GR99 runs through Artignosc-sur-Verdon.

Public Spaces

Grand Jardin is a municipal garden that is open to the public all year round. It provides space for playing and picnicking.

Tradition

Every year on the third Sunday in September, Artignosc-sur-Verdon commemorates Sainte-Euphémie with a procession from the village and a mass in the chapel.
