Oppedette: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Gorges d’Oppedette are 2.5-kilometre-long limestone gorges, up to 140 metres wide and, in places, 200 metres deep. They were formed by the long-lasting erosion of the Calavon. They are designated as a departmental Espace Naturel Sensible.

When planning a trip around Oppedette and the Gorges d’Oppedette, travellers want to rent a holiday apartment.

Nature

Several viewpoints offer views of the Gorges d’Oppedette or the village of Oppedette.

The Le Refour climbing area is located above the Gorges d’Oppedette on the right bank, opposite the village. It is classified as a sports facility by the FFME.

Hiking

The Tour des Gorges d’Oppedette route crosses the departmental protected area of the Gorges d’Oppedette, an Espace Naturel Sensible. In the rocky lapiaz sections, it includes some difficult stretches and several passages along narrow rock ledges above the abyss.

Culture

The Church of Saint-Didier in Oppedette was built in 1834. A votive stone inscription dedicated to the god Mars is set into its façade. Oppedette’s architectural heritage also includes an old fountain.
