L’Argentière-la-Bessée makes its technical and industrial heritage visible in the town centre along a dedicated tour: the Circuit du patrimoine technique et industriel was established to present this heritage. The 3 km loop includes twelve exhibition elements and several explanatory panels; it also features a self-supporting pipeline on the Durance.

Culture
The Chapelle Saint-Jean is the last surviving architectural testimony to the Order of the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John of Jerusalem in the Hautes-Alpes. The Mine d'argent du Fournel offers a one-hour guided underground tour through 600 metres of medieval galleries and galleries dating from the 19th century.
The Tour des Hermes was built in 1922 by Gilbert Planche’s company, which operated the aluminium plant in L’Argentière-la-Bessée. The tower rang to show the factory workers the time and help them avoid being late.
The Sentier thématique du Pays des Ecrins in L’Argentière-la-Bessée follows in the footsteps of the town’s industrial past. Explanatory panels line the route; there is also a downloadable mobile audio guide. The Statue d'Edward Whymper depicts the mountaineer Edward Whymper, who climbed the Barre des Écrins in 1864 together with several high-mountain guides. It was erected to mark the centenary of the Bureau des Guides des Écrins.
Water and trails
The Voie verte connects the town centre of L’Argentière-la-Bessée with the Plan d'eau, runs along the Durance and crosses the Sablonnières business park. The Plan d'eau de l'Argentière-la-Bessée is used for waterside recreation, fishing and training in white-water sports such as canoeing and kayaking.
The Stade d'eau vive de l'Argentière-La-Bessée (III) is located at the beginning of a 35 km navigable section of the Durance that leads to Embrun.
Activities
The Via Ferrata de l’Horloge begins near the local climbing routes and returns to the car park via a descent secured with wire cables or by a path. The Les Collets climbing crag is a beginner climbing area with just under thirty routes, mostly graded 4 and 5.
Nature
Around L’Argentière-la-Bessée, the Réserve des chardons bleus can be reached via the GR 54. Also in the surrounding area, the nationally protected and Natura 2000-designated Eryngium alpinum extends across 40 hectares in the upper Fournel Valley. The Réserve des chardons bleus has an educational trail with explanatory panels about high-mountain habitats and the adaptations of alpine plants.
