Nature
In Dévoluy, the Plateau de Bure is a vast high-altitude scree field where a great variety of protected animal and plant species live, found only in habitats of this kind. The Plateau de Bure remains accessible to everyone under regulations that limit visitor activities in order to protect its biotope. Outside the winter season, leaving the marked paths there is not permitted. The Tour du Dévoluy leads to the foot of Pic de Bure and then across the Plateau de Bure.

Hiking and climbing routes
In Dévoluy, marked hiking trails with difficulty levels ranging from easy to very difficult invite visitors to explore the massif.
The Via souterrata de La Tune is secured and accessible only when accompanied by a caving guide. It includes an underground route 300 to 500 m long, with narrow passages, monkey bridges and ladders.
The Via ferrata des Étroits offers two complementary routes, accessible according to ability level and personal preferences. The “Traversée des Beaumes” route is 550 m long and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The “Voie Vertigo” route is 1,280 m long in total, including the Traversée des Beaumes, and takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours.
Culture
Mère-Église is a Romanesque chapel in the commune of Saint Disdier, built in the 11th century. It has been classified as a historic monument since 1927. Frescoes can be seen inside Mère-Église.
Local products
In Dévoluy, local products help preserve traditional knowledge and skills. The local-product shops in Dévoluy offer lamb from Dévoluy, farm products made from sheep’s milk and traditional bread baked in a wood-fired oven.
Cycling
From the arrival point at Pelourenq, it is 700 m by bike to the mountain-biking trails. In summer 2026, the shuttle buses between the stations are free; they make it possible to travel by bicycle to La Joue du Loup and take the Télémix des Fontettes.
