Culture
The Romanesque part of the Église Saint-Sidoine dates from the 10th century. In the 16th century, it was dedicated jointly to Saint Étienne and Sainte Victoire and expanded to include six side chapels. Near the church in the village of Vauvenargues is the Maison du Grand Site.
The Prieuré Sainte-Victoire dates from 1661/74. The hike there and to the Croix de Provence begins at the Cabassols car park in Vauvenargues, is 12 km long, has an elevation gain of 600 metres and takes four hours. The route from Vauvenargues to the Prieuré follows a pilgrimage tradition dating back to the 15th century. Its chapel and shelter are managed by Les Amis de Sainte-Victoire; the Prieuré and its shelter are open to everyone, with the shelter limited to 14 sleeping places.
The “Roumavagi” pilgrimage of pilgrims from Pertuis takes place on the last Sunday in April.
