Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Baudile was classified in its entirety as a Monument Historique by a decree dated 8 September 1999. The Porte Aurose is a gate dating from the 14th century that has survived to this day and is the best-preserved of Noves' four village gates.

Le Puech is considered one of the historic oppida of Noves; the Cavares settled there around 600 BC. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Pitié stands at the site where the first inhabitant of Noves settled and was initially a hermitage of the Observant monks. Its nave was built in 1630 and extended in 1722 following a vow made by the inhabitants of Noves during the great plague of 1720–1721. A pilgrimage associated with this historic vow continues to take place on the first Saturday in September.

The former Chapelle des Pénitents has been the Marc Mielly Municipal Media Library since 1995.

The Esplanade du Château is now a pine-shaded promenade and is a reminder of a medieval fortress built between the 10th and the beginning of the 12th century. From there, it offers a panoramic view over the rooftops of Noves and the surrounding landscape.
