Mollégès: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Mollégès lies at the foot of the Alpilles hills, surrounded by green plains. Those who choose Mollégès as their destination and want to rent a holiday apartment can focus their accommodation search on the village.

Culture and History

The 11th-century Chapel of Saint-Thomas is the oldest monument in the village of Mollégès. It was built around 960, and the first settlement of Mollégès developed around it. At the initiative of the municipality, the chapel was completely restored in 2023.

The parish church of Saint-Pierre-es-Liens was built in 1864 according to plans by the architect Henry Revoil. The silhouette of its bell tower was inspired by the surviving Roman mausoleum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The Lauron des Femmes washhouse is also part of the area's history: it dates from 1860, was restored in 2018, and is located beside a spring known as Lauron.

The Monument du Cheval, created by Camille Soccorsi, commemorates the role of draught horses in Mollégès' agricultural history. Saint-Eloi has also been celebrated in Mollégès for more than two centuries; in Provence, he is regarded as the patron saint of farmers and carters.

Cycling

The EuroVelo 8 long-distance cycle route, “La Méditerranée à vélo”, runs through Mollégès. Another option is the easy 23-km circular route “Balade sur les routes provençales” between Orgon, Mollégès and Plan-d’Orgon. It follows small roads lined with canals and runs along the Massif des Alpilles.

Activities

L’Arche de Méo is a six-hectare animal park in Mollégès featuring bodies of water, domestic and farm animals, and species such as wallabies and ostriches. A half-day experience as an animal keeper is also offered there.
