The visible remains of the Oppidum de la Cloche are among the historical traces in Les-Pennes-Mirabeau. They date back to a reconstruction at the end of the 2nd century; the abandonment of the site around 50 BC is associated with Caesar’s siege of Marseille.
Those planning a stay in Les-Pennes-Mirabeau may wish to rent a holiday apartment for this purpose.

Nature
The “Balade perchée aux Pennes-Mirabeau” is a family-friendly walk through the city’s historic centre. The route initially passes through vegetation lined with pine trees, followed by drier vegetation with kermes oaks, rosemary and thyme.
The circular route “Sur les traces des biquettes” begins at the Maison du Tourisme Pennois, 22 rue Raspail, in the old village, is open all year round and is 10 km long. It has an elevation difference of 170 m, takes 3 hours and is suitable for experienced hikers.
