The Crête de Costelongue is an easy, 7.3 km circular hike from Lançon-Provence that takes two hours. It runs along a ridge among thyme and rosemary and offers panoramic views of the Massif de la Sainte-Victoire. The return route leads between olive trees and pine forest below the village.

Culture and history
The Chapelle Saint-Cyr is a Romanesque chapel with a single nave and two side chapels. It dates from the late 11th century and was formerly the centre of the old village. The Eglise Saint Cyr et Sainte Julitte was built during the 14th century on a rocky outcrop in the centre of the village, within the third fortified wall.
The Chapelle Saint Symphorien dates from the 18th century and is dedicated to Saint Symphorian, the patron saint of the village. Below the village stands the Pigeonnier de la Goiranne, an 18th-century dovecote belonging to an agricultural estate.
Coudounèu is an archaeological site on a rocky outcrop dating from the late 5th century BC, protected by a stone enclosure.
Local life
The Tuesday market in Lançon-Provence takes place every Tuesday morning from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm on the Place du Champ de Mars. Products on offer include fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, cheese and honey. The producers’ market on Saturdays opens there from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and offers regional products through a short supply chain, directly from producers to consumers.
Château Virant offers self-guided tours of the estate, followed by a tasting at the end of the visit. The Musée de la Vigne et de l’Olivier at Château Virant displays old tools, a film and a sensory tour for discovering wine.
Activities
A historic path leads through the vineyards and olive groves of Château Virant to the Virant Rock. The climb takes 30 minutes and follows an old rock staircase.
Virant Rock is a recognised climbing site in Provence, with routes for beginners and advanced climbers.
