The “Les senteurs de Provence” circular trail follows shaded paths from pine forests to fields of thyme, rosemary and lavender. It leads to the Chapelle Sainte-Trinité and, before returning to the village, includes a visit to the Moulin Saint-Vincent, a lavandin distillery and an olive oil mill.
In Jouques, walks and hikes through fields, hills and small mountain landscapes are available. Along the way, visitors can discover dry-stone huts, terraces, calades and oratories.
Les Écuries de Bèdes offer group and private horse-riding lessons for different age groups and ability levels. Children can start from the age of 8; there are also adult courses for all levels, as well as dressage, show jumping, TREC, trail rides, vaulting and archery.
Culture and history
The Musée rural d’histoire locale is located in the former Saint-Jean Chapel, which once served as a place of prayer for the White Penitents. The Church of Saint-Pierre in Jouques became a parish church at the beginning of the 11th century.
The Romanesque nave of Notre-Dame-de-la-Roque is flanked by a Gothic chapel containing numerous votive offerings.
Food and drink
The Marché de Jouques takes place every Sunday throughout the year from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and offers products from local producers. The shop of the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Fidélité sells handcrafted, monastic and regional products, including jams, honey, almonds, olive oil and tapenade.
