Culture

The Musée Témoignage et Patrimoine d’Eyragues is located in the La Bastide building in the Parc des Poètes and offers an exhibition area open to the public. Its collections include rare books of Provençal literature and encyclopaedias.

The museum’s costume collection includes Arlésienne traditional dress from the 18th century to the present day, including ribbons and lace.

At the southern entrance to the Parc des Poètes, the Allée des Félibres honours seven Félibrige poets: a statue commemorates Frédéric Mistral, while busts represent Joseph Roumanille, Théodore Aubanel, Jean Brunet, Anselme Mathieu, Paul Giéra and Alphonse Tavan.

Under each bust in the Allée des Félibres, QR codes provide information about the respective poets in French, English and Provençal.

The Église Saint-Maxime is a Romanesque church from the 12th century that has been rebuilt several times and is listed in the register of historic monuments.

The shaded garden of the Chapelle de Notre-Dame-du-Pieux-Zèle still contains remains of Palaeochristian sarcophagi. The chapel dates back to the early Romanesque period of the 11th century.

Nature

The Parc des Poètes has a small walking path among numerous Mediterranean plant species.

Bambous en Provence is a 4.3-hectare garden with a collection of 250 bamboo species. A 1-kilometre nature trail leads through a plant tunnel and bamboo groves; the garden also includes water features for lotus flowers and water lilies.

Festivals

Saint-Eloi is celebrated at the end of June with the caretto ramado: a plant-decorated cart is pulled by dozens of draught horses and led by a pair of Prieurs.

The Attelage Eyraguais association organises an annual horse fair on the first Sunday in March.

Among other events, the Comité des Fêtes organises the Saint-Symphorien festival in Eyragues.
