Landscape and Nature
The Parc Départemental de Roques-Hautes covers 800 hectares, 400 of which lie in Beaurecueil. The Réserve naturelle de Sainte-Victoire is located in this park, west of Montagne Sainte-Victoire.
The Réserve naturelle de Sainte-Victoire comprises 140 protected hectares and has been closed to the public since 1994. Dinosaur eggs from the Late Cretaceous have been preserved as fossils in its red clay and sandstone.
Culture and History
Along the Route Cézanne in Beaurecueil are the remains of the Roman aqueduct of Saint-Antonin-sur-Bayon, including a channel, bridge piers and masonry. In the Bois des Roussettes, visible wheel tracks have been preserved as evidence of the route of the ancient Via Aurelia, the Via Aurélienne.
The Oratoire Saint-Mitre dates from 1849, while the Oratoire Saint-Benoît Joseph Labre dates from 1896. In the Hameau du Trou, a secured public circular walk passes the remains of a rock chapel, two houses – one of them equipped with an outdoor oven – and a threshing floor.
Activities and Village Life
Les Écuries du Maistre offers horseback rides in Beaurecueil. La Table de Beaurecueil is located in a restored 19th-century sheepfold on the former farm of the Château de Beaurecueil.
The Roques-Hautes VTT 2 mountain bike loop starts in Beaurecueil and leads almost as far as the Bimont Dam. The loop is 7 km long, takes less than an hour, is rated as difficult and has an elevation gain of 225 metres.
Beaurecueil is served by two lines of the Pays d’Aix Mobilité network: line 110 and school line 1300.
