Getting Around
Signposted routes in Auriol pass through landscapes with rivers, forests, valleys and reliefs. In Auriol, you can hike along paths and trails, as well as cycle or mountain bike. The Auriol–Les Moulins walk takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes and follows old canals and the banks of the Huveaune.
Culture and History
The Musée Martin Duby preserves works by local artists, faience, old tools and objects, as well as santons. It is housed in a building that served as a granary from 1555, a grain hall from 1689, and Auriol’s town hall from 1759 to 1969. One room in the Musée Martin Duby is dedicated to the Treasure of Auriol.
The Tour de l'Horloge in Auriol has two clock faces and dates from 1564. In Auriol, the old canals, known as “béals”, powered the first mills for sawmilling, flour production, oil production, textile processing and metalworking.
