Valderoure stretches along the green plain of the Lane, where small hamlets are scattered. At the same time, the village is situated at a striking rock face; its old houses stand in a row above an expansive meadow.

Culture and History
The Chapelle Saint-Léonce in Valderoure was built in the Middle Ages as part of the Lérins priory. By decree dated 10 September 1947, it was listed as a historic monument.
Pugnefort was a fortified settlement mentioned in 1207. The remains of Pugnefort Castle are located on a small platform 500 metres northwest of the hamlet of La Ferrière.
The former fortified house of Valderoure was built in the 13th century in the Malamaire district. In the Middle Ages, it protected its inhabitants and their possessions.
A limestone oratory was erected by Étienne Rebuffel, a stonemason, in honour of the “Mobiles” and those mobilised in 1870. Near Valentin, by the former Chapelle Saint-Léonce, there is a Roman sarcophagus.
Hiking
The Grand Tour du Haut-Estéron is a five-day circular hiking route. It crosses the Lane and passes through the plain of Valderoure before reaching Valderoure.
Local Produce
The Ferme Chapot-Maillard in Valderoure produces veal and beef as well as beef salami from organically raised Salers cattle. La Storia produces organic high-altitude beers from organic barley grown on the grounds of the Ferme Chapot-Maillard.
