Culture and history
The Château de Tourrette-Levens and its fortified complex have been listed as historic monuments since 15 September 1937. The Eglise Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption is a Baroque church in the County of Nice and houses works by Ludovic and François Bréa.
The Chapelle Saint-Antoine was built by the Portaneri family in 1628. Every year on 17 January, a mass and a procession take place in the chapel. The Proucession daï Limassa takes place every year on Corpus Christi as a candlelight procession through the decorated and illuminated streets of the village.
On the square and at the Chapelle des Pénitents blancs in the old village, only a triangular bell tower remains of the building that collapsed in 1946. The tower probably corresponded to the medieval church of the former village.
The photo trail passes around 30 photographs by regional artists; its theme changes every year. On 6 June 2026, Tourrette-Levens revived Lou Festin dei Limassa, also known as Fête des Limaces, as one of its traditions.
Nature and trails
The Jardin médiéval presents more than 80 different species of medicinal plants. Explanations of the medieval use of each plant are available via a QR code placed at the entrance.
The 700-metre round trip on the Sentier découverte du château provides information, through explanatory panels, about 22 plant species that occur naturally at the site. The Sentier découverte du château is open to all visitors; sturdy, suitable footwear is recommended.
Museums
The Château de Tourrette-Levens houses the Musée des Papillons et d’Histoire Naturelle. The Musée des métiers traditionnels displays 7,000 authentic tools from the late 19th to the early 20th century and comprises 16 rooms depicting historic occupations in the form of staged workshops.
The Musée de Préhistoire includes a reconstruction of a decorated wall from Chauvet Cave. It also draws on excavations at Baume Périgaud and in the Grotte du Merle in Tourrette-Levens.

To get to Tourrette-Levens, take exit 55, Nice Est, on the A8 motorway towards Saint-André-de-la-Roche–Levens. You can reach Tourrette-Levens by public transport using bus no. 19 operated by Ligne d’Azur.
