Nature

Saint-Martin-Vésubie has 450 km of marked hiking trails, ranging from family walks to routes leading to mountain summits. The long-distance GR 52 trail passes through the local network of hiking paths and provides access to the rock engravings of the Vallée des Merveilles.

The Refuge de la Madone de Fenestre is located at an altitude of 1,903 m on the GR 52A and is a starting point for mountaineering, climbing and family hikes. The Boréon shuttle bus departs from Saint-Martin-Vésubie and enables hikers to reach the trailheads without a car.

Culture

Together with the AMONT association, the tourist information office offers guided tours of the village with commentary at 4 p.m. on Thursdays from mid-July to mid-September.

The Chapelle des Pénitents Noirs is the oldest religious building in Saint-Martin-Vésubie and an example of Alpine folk Baroque art. The Eglise Notre-Dame de l’Assomption is a Baroque church from the late 17th century with altarpiece elements attributed to the Bréa school. The Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs has 17th-century interior furnishings, a large altarpiece and a carved wooden high altar.

Camp du Tournairet is a fortification in the vicinity of Saint-Martin-Vésubie.
