Nature
The Adret de Pra Gazé area, designated as a Natura 2000 site, is located in the municipality of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage and covers approximately 100 hectares. The Natura 2000 site Chauves-souris de la Haute-Tinée extends over 1,787 hectares in the municipalities of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage and Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée. Fourteen different bat species are found in this area. Directly above the village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage, the plant known as “Dragon’s Head” blooms at the beginning of summer.

Activities
Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage is a stage on the GR5 long-distance hiking trail and the Grande Traversée du Mercantour. Numerous hikes start from Bousièyas, including several along the GR5 and GR56. The routes mentioned for summer in Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage include the Tour du Bois de Ville.
There are around 100 equipped climbing routes at Rocher de Junic. A 15- to 20-minute walk leads to the foot of the climbing routes. In the Vallon de Gialorgues, the landscape features icefalls that are considered among the most beautiful in the region.
Culture
The Avant-poste de Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage is a military fortification of the Maginot Line. The Romanesque-style bell tower of the Saint Dalmas parish church is dated 1718; the parish church itself dates from the early 18th century.
The Chapelle Sainte Marguerite is a 15th-century chapel. Its frescoes are attributed to Baleison and are thought to have been created around 1480. Visits are only possible with a guide and by prior reservation.
Le Camp des Fourches is a high-altitude military barracks built from 1888 onward. The restored ruins can be visited individually. Le Camp des Fourches is located on the Route du Col de la Bonette between the Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence départements.
