Saint-Antonin lies at an altitude of 800 metres on a rocky ridge and in a valley basin formed from eroded shale rock. The village offers beautiful panoramic views. In the “Villes et villages étoilés” competition, Saint-Antonin was listed among the municipalities with one star in 2025.

History and Culture
The first written mention of Saint-Antonin dates from 1091 and refers to a church of the same name. In the first half of the 13th century, a fortified settlement called Saint-Antonin was mentioned. A village was built next to the fortified settlement; it fell into decline towards the end of the Middle Ages, and Saint-Antonin was declared uninhabited in 1438.
Saint-Antonin has a very well-preserved washhouse.
Getting Around
The Boucle d’Azur “Entre Var et Estéron” cycling route connects Puget-Théniers, La Penne and Saint-Antonin. Saint-Antonin is also the starting point for numerous hiking trails, with routes for beginners as well as experienced hikers.
Local Character
In Saint-Antonin, visitors can visit local producers directly on their farms or at the many local markets. At Serre Lions, farmhouse cheese and cow’s milk yoghurt are available.
