Nature
The upper Bévéra Valley crosses Moulinet from north to south. The area is mountainous and features an extensive valley basin in the centre, carved out by tributary streams; the municipality covers 4,107 hectares. Moulinet is located in the Mercantour National Park.

Hiking
From Moulinet, marked hiking trails of varying difficulty are available, including routes belonging to the PDIPR and the Grandes Randonnées (GR).
The Sentier des aromates begins at Moulinet’s football pitch and leads along the Saint-Louis track to the bridge at Peïra-Cava. The Sentier des aromates passes close to the Chapelle Saint-Michel and offers views of the Authion mountain ranges. The Chapelle Saint-Michel is estimated to date from the late 11th to the 13th century and is located along a hiking circuit near Moulinet.
Culture and History
Construction of the Camp de Cabanes Vieilles began in 1889; extensions followed in 1905 and 1912. The remains of 15 masonry buildings are visible in the camp. The Camp de Cabanes Vieilles can be visited free of charge in summer when the weather is good.
The Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Menour originally dates back to the 11th century and remains a place of pilgrimage for the residents of Moulinet. Mass is celebrated there three times a year – on Easter Monday, Whit Monday and 8 September. The Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Menour is accessible via a monumental staircase. Its interior is closed to visitors, but can be opened on request through the Moulinet municipal administration.
Culinary Specialities
Boussotou is a large ravioli filled with white pumpkin from Moulinet. Pissare is a tourte made with salted, coarsely grated pumpkin and remains part of family and traditional celebrations.
