Culture
The Tour des Danys is part of the town’s history. Since 22 December 1941, it has been listed in the supplementary register of historic monuments and is considered Le Cannet’s first watchtower. The Chapelle Saint-Sauveur, a former bell tower, was designed by Théo Tobiasse around the theme “La vie est une fête”. Outside, its entrance is highlighted by a mosaic and a sculpture entitled “L’Oiseau de Lumière”.
The Église Sainte-Philomène was completed in 1884 and designated a parish church in 1907. Another testimony to the town’s history is the monumental mural “Oranger du Patrimoine”: it honours Le Cannet’s first 140 founding families and depicts their family tree.
In Vieux-Cannet, Rue Saint-Sauveur brings together artisans under the “Ville et Métiers d’Art” label and includes more than 50 shop windows.
Getting Around
The approximately 90-minute walking route “Sur les pas de Bonnard” leads visitors to discover the Canal de la Siagne and follow in Bonnard’s footsteps. Along the route, visitors experience the landscapes and light of the Midi that inspired the painter; panoramic views can also be enjoyed there.
Place Bellevue offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the Îles de Lérins.
