The Sentier botanique in Fontan includes several hundred-year-old chestnut trees in its shady section. The Gorges de Bergue are gorges carved into red schist.

Exploring the Surrounding Area

Gare de Fontan-Saorge is a stopping point accessible from outside, with covered platforms and no ticket machines. For cycling, EuroVelo 8 “La Méditerranée à vélo” runs through the Roya Valley via Breil, Saorge, Fontan and Tende to Col de Tende.
