Coaraze: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Coaraze is home to religious buildings and signposted hiking trails. The Église St Jean-Baptiste was built at the beginning of the 14th century and has been classified as a historic monument since 2019.

Culture

The Église St Jean-Baptiste features Baroque furnishings with stucco, paintings, trompe-l’œil murals and imitation marble. The Chapelle Saint-Sébastien has also been classified as a historic monument since 2001. Its interior preserves extraordinary 16th-century frescoes. The Chapelle Bleue provides a much more recent accent with contemporary frescoes from 1962 by Angel Ponce de Léon, designed in a monochrome shade of blue.

Nature

The hike to Rocca Sparvièra begins at Coaraze’s entrance car park at an altitude of 620 metres. It is classified as moderately difficult and involves 500 metres of ascent, 500 metres of descent and four hours of walking for the round trip. Overall, around thirty recorded and signposted hiking trails begin in Coaraze.

The Route des Grandes Alpes is considered a challenging route; it begins in Coaraze and leads towards Nice.

Geographical Location

The summit of Mont Férion, the Cime de la Blachière mountain and Mont Séréna mountain are located in the immediate vicinity of Coaraze. The Cime de Roccassiera summit and the Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Paix de Castagniers monastery are also located in the surrounding area.

In the wider regional surroundings of Coaraze are the Musée et Site Archéologiques de Nice-Cimiez museum, Château de Valrose palace and Monaco Top Cars Collection museum.

Events

The 37th edition of the Championnat du Monde de Piló has been announced for 4 July 2026 in Coaraze. The Fête de l'Olivier has also been announced for 2026, from 14 to 16 August, as a traditional event.
