Culture and Village Scenery
The present-day Église Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité in Clans is classified as a historic monument and was built from 1680 onward. Its façade is designed in the Neoclassical style. The Chapelle Saint-Jean is decorated entirely with works by the artist Moya, while the Chapelle Saint-Antoine is classified as a historic building. This historic character is complemented by a 16th-century grain mill.
Nature and Trails
The Traversée du Valdeblore mountain biking route runs from La Colmiane at an altitude of 1,500 metres to Pont de Clans at 300 metres. Along its full route, it passes through eight villages, including Clans. The hiking trails around Clans can be reached on foot or by electric bicycle and lead to one of the most beautiful forests in the department. Clans also has a biological swimming lake, unique in the valley.
Local Life
From April to December, a market featuring local producers and craftspeople takes place in Clans on the first Saturday of each month. The Aïoli festival is held around 17 August.
Geographical Location
Pont de Clans is 68 km from Nice Airport. The route leads via the RM 6202 through the Var Valley and then via the RM 2205 through the Tinée Valley.
