The Les Plans de Carros et le village route follows a shady path to the medieval village and its orientation table. It is 7 km long, has 400 metres of elevation gain, takes 3 hours and is of moderate difficulty.
The route at the Chapelle Saint-Sébastien is an easy walk along a corniche above the Var Plain. It is 5.5 km long, has 420 metres of elevation gain and takes 2 hours 30 minutes.
The walk to the Pont de la Lune is easy, 2.5 km long and takes 2 hours. The bridge was restored in 2016 and 2018 and is located upstream from the remains of Gabeyrée’s old oil mill.
Culture
The Château de Carros is a medieval castle dating from the 12th century, located at the highest point in the village and overlooking the Var Valley. Despite being destroyed several times, it has retained its medieval appearance. After being acquired by the municipality, it was renovated; since 1998, it has housed the Centre International d’Art Contemporain (CIAC).
Events
Sainte-Colombe is a tradition celebrated annually in the village at the end of August, with origins dating back to 1715. It includes processions, boules competitions, children’s games and a dance evening, among other activities.
The annual Fête des fraises brings the Place Louis Frescolini in Les Plans de Carros to life for an entire weekend. It features local artisans, vendors and regional products.

Near Carros is the Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Paix de Castagniers, a monastery. The surroundings of Carros also include the Château de Valrose, a palace, as well as the Musée et Site Archéologiques de Nice-Cimiez and the Fondation Maeght, both museums.
