The Château-Musée Grimaldi was built around 1300 as a fortress for Rainier Grimaldi, Seigneur of Cagnes and Admiral of France. Around 1620, Baron Jean-Henri Grimaldi converted it into a manor house with a strong Italian Baroque influence.
Today, the Château-Musée Grimaldi houses the Musée ethnographique de l'olivier and the Musée d'art moderne méditerranéen. The Donation Solidor can also be viewed there. The Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Protection contains 16th-century frescoes and has been classified as a Monument historique since 4 April 1939.
