Aiglun: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Clue d’Aiglun is a canyon used by canyoning enthusiasts, set in a wild and impressive landscape where the green waters of the Estéron flow.

When planning a stay in Aiglun, you may wish to focus on renting a holiday apartment.

Nature and trails

The starting point of the Clue d’Aiglun can be reached on foot from Aiglun via the Sentier du mont Saint-Martin in approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. The Clue d’Aiglun route requires low water levels, as it passes through extremely narrow gorges and, in some sections, requires travelling outside the water along rocky ledges.

The Cascade du Vegay is a destination for short hikes on the GR4. At 140 metres high, it is a remarkable natural site in the Alpes-Maritimes département and has been designated a classified natural site since 1933.

Aiglun has a botanical educational trail. The Vallée de l’Estéron oriental d’Aiglun à Gilette is listed in France as a natural area of ecological, faunal and floristic interest (ZNIEFF).

Culture and history

The Forteresse troglodyte d’Aiglun, also known as the “château d’Aiglun”, is a cave extended by a rocky ledge that provides access to a spring. During the turbulent 14th century, it appears to have served more as a refuge than as a lookout post.

The Église Saint Raphaël dates from the 18th century and is inspired by Romanesque architecture.
