Vaumeilh: Holiday apartments and houses
Vaumeilh lies on a vast plateau suitable for fruit growing and cereal cultivation. The village is overlooked by Pic Pied de Hongrie. The extensive plateau also contains the Sisteron-Vaumeilh airfield within the territory of Vaumeilh, which is known for its gliding club.

Culture and history
The Saint-Marcellin Chapel stands on a plateau, 800 metres from the village of Vaumeilh. It is dedicated to Saint Marcellin, the first bishop of Embrun and evangelist of the area, and has been completely restored. Vaumeilh’s sights also include the classical-style Church of Saint-Marcellin d’Embrun.
A procession and a mass take place at the chapel on the last Sunday in April. During the Wars of Religion of the League, Vaumeilh was occupied by Protestants.

The “Les Balcons de la Durance” cycling tour passes through the villages of Vaumeilh and Valernes. The short “Tour du Rocher de Hongrie” cycling tour also runs through Valernes and Vaumeilh.

The “Entre nature et culture” educational trail conveys interesting information about the local wildlife through fables and anecdotes. It also highlights the variety of local plants and their captivating fragrances.
