Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye has 34 peaks over 3,000 m high. The Via Alpina between Trieste and Monaco runs through the village. The Col de Vars is located in the municipality of Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye; its cycling ascent climbs 1,000 metres to an altitude of 2,108 m.

Nature and Trails
The Refuge de Maljasset is located in the hamlet of Maljasset at an altitude of 1,905 m, in a very old farmhouse with a slate roof, vaulted rooms and a south-facing terrace. The Refuge de Chambeyron is an FFCAM mountain hut at an altitude of 2,626 m in Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye.
The Tour du Plan de Parouart circular trail leads from Maljasset around a wetland plain that formed after a major landslide dammed the Ubaye Valley. Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye has numerous marked snowshoeing routes that lead through nature that remains untouched.
History and Culture
The Fort de Tournoux extends over more than 700 metres of elevation. Construction began in 1843, and it has been considered complete since 1865. The Batterie des Caurres was added in 1880 as an extension of the Fort de Tournoux and covers it from the summit with new guns.
The Fort de Tournoux can only be visited as part of guided tours that must be booked in advance, from May to September; for safety reasons, only the upper Batterie des Caurres is accessible to the public.
The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Fouillouse, including its enclosed grounds, was fully classified as a Monument historique on 4 April 2019. The interior frescoes of the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Fouillouse may date from the 16th century and could rank among the most significant examples in Provence.
The Musée de Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye is dedicated to the blacksmith Albert Manuel (1910–1991). It is housed in a converted barn and presents mountain life before mechanisation through agriculture, domestic life and crafts. The museum also reconstructs a traditional dwelling from the Ubaye region and displays domestic work, the processing of wool and hemp, as well as historical crafts.
The Musée de la moto de Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye displays almost 70 roadworthy two-wheeled vehicles dating from 1925 to 1996.
Local Produce
The Brasserie des Hautes Vallées produces traditionally brewed craft beers using malt and hops from organic farming. It offers tastings on site and tours by appointment.
The Marché des producteurs et artisans de Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye offers local bread, vegetables, prepared dishes, syrup, goat’s cheese, beer, honey and meat.
