Culture and History

Notre-Dame de l’Ortiguière is a rural chapel on the road to Saint-Christol, about 2 km from Revest-du-Bion. It was built in the Middle Ages and has been documented since the 13th century. Four sculpted corbels support the vault of Notre-Dame de l’Ortiguière.

The fountain of Revest-du-Bion was completely renovated in 2021. The village fountain stands on the village square; behind it, at a slightly lower level, there is a washhouse. The remains of the fortifications from the 16th century are also still visible in the townscape of Revest-du-Bion.

The present-day church building of Revest-du-Bion contains remnants of the 11th- or 12th-century Church of Saint-Pierre. The painter Eugène Martel was from Revest-du-Bion and returned permanently to his home village in 1898.

Excursions and Events

Les Ecuries du Lazare offer horse-related activities in Revest-du-Bion. The “Sur les traces du Hussard” route is a 145 km-long, free driving tour with a self-guided visit at your own pace.

The Aires host, among other events, the chestnut festival as a local event in Revest-du-Bion.
