Pierrevert: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The GR4 hiking trail crosses Pierrevert, coming from Manosque and heading towards Montfuron.

Nature

The Sentier des Vignes is a 4.5-kilometre circular trail. Walking the Sentier des Vignes takes around two hours and involves a cumulative elevation gain of 50 metres. The trail features five interpretation panels about vineyard work, winegrowers, grape varieties and the traditional wines of the Pierrevert hillside.

The Sentier du Cairn is intended for more experienced hikers and features six viewing tubes offering views of the Durance plain, the Valensole Plateau and the Alpine ranges. At the summit of the Ferme du Revest, the GR4 offers views of the surrounding hills, the Durance plain, the Valensole Plateau and the Alps.

The Boucle Saint-Patrice is accessible to everyone and leads from the village through vineyards and cultivated landscapes to the Chapelle Saint-Patrice.

Culture

The Porte Saint-Joseph gate dates from 1701. In 1937, the gate was listed as a historic monument. The Église Saint-Pierre church dates from the middle of the 12th century.

La Voûte des Arts uses a medieval 13th-century vaulted structure to promote culture and showcase Pierrevert’s village heritage.

The Musée de la Vigne et du Vin is located in the heart of the village of Pierrevert. It is housed in a former winegrower’s property, which was donated to the municipality by its owners. The museum highlights the wine-growing heritage that makes Pierrevert the wine capital of the Alpes de Haute-Provence.

Wine

The Pierrevert wine appellation was recognised as an AOC on 1 July 1998 and converted to an AOP in 2011. The Pierrevert AOP includes dry red, rosé and white wines.

The Les Vignerons de Pierrevert cooperative was built in 1925 by the architect Coulet. The Pierrevert wine-growing area covers 450 hectares and lies at an average elevation of 450 metres.
