History

The Church of Saint-Martin, also known as Notre-Dame de l’Assomption, is officially dated to the 12th century and is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. Its apse is decorated with arcades and influenced by the early Lombard Romanesque style. The Saint-Michel Chapel also dates from the 12th century.

The portal of the Notre-Dame-de-Santé Chapel bears the date 1856. The chapel is located 750 metres east of Entrevennes on the D101 and opens for the pilgrimage on 15 August. The deconsecrated Saint-Michel Chapel hosts exhibitions, concerts, conferences and performances.

Landscape

The wooded valleys of Entrevennes are watered by the Rancure. Near Entrevennes, almond trees stand alongside numerous lavender fields. The village centre of Entrevennes offers an exceptional viewpoint from its highest point.

The hiking trail reaches the medieval Saint-Michel Chapel after 400 metres; its façade is flanked by two tower-like corner buttresses.
