Entrepierres: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Entrepierres lies between the mountains of La Baume and Adrech. There, the small mountain stream Riou du Jabron has carved a gorge that connects the village with the higher hamlet of Mézien. The medieval village lies in a gorge locally known as the “Détroit”, with a rocky backdrop.

Landscape
The 17th-century Church of Saint Mark blends harmoniously into the rural surroundings. Its bell tower and vaulted entrance give it architectural character. In the heart of Entrepierres, there is also the parish church, built from light-coloured stone.
Culture and History
The Pont de la Reine Jeanne was built in the 16th century in the bed of the Vançon River and is associated with Jeanne I of Anjou, Queen of Provence and Naples. It is protected as a registered historic site and historic monument and is open every day all year round.
The crypt of the Prieuré de Vilhosc is a remnant from the 11th century and a remarkable example of early Romanesque architecture. It has a triple apse and massive pillars. One of these pillars contains a movable, rounded and smooth stone at its centre. The apse rests on around a dozen sandstone columns. A pilgrimage to the crypt of the Prieuré de Vilhosc took place in the 12th century.
A short there-and-back route leads from the Pont de la Reine Jeanne to the hamlet of Saint-Symphorien. Saint-Symphorien is now a ghost village that was gradually abandoned by its inhabitants and incorporated into the municipality of Entrepierres in 1973.
The Church of Saint Jean overlooks the hamlet of Mézien. The Church of Saint Gervais et Protais was probably built in the second half of the 17th century, when the parish seat was relocated.
Local Character
La ferme d'Urtis in Entrepierres produces beef, eggs, organically grown fruit and vegetables, as well as honey, and sells baskets of local products directly. During the summer season, la ferme d'Urtis also sells its products directly at the market in the hamlet of Mézien (Entrepierres) on Sunday mornings.
Spiruline Solaire offers free, reservation-only tours of the production facility lasting approximately one hour. A picnic at the farm and a tasting of fresh spirulina at lunchtime are also possible.
