Curbans: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature

Lac de Curbans lies in the riverbed of the Durance, within the territories of the municipalities of Curbans and La Saulce. During the bird migration season, naturalists observe migratory birds there with telescopes. Fishing is permitted at Lac de Curbans, except in the areas 300 metres upstream and downstream of the La Saulce dam on both banks.

Peynier, Piéfourcha and Sommet de Serre-Brouchou are peaks in the immediate surroundings of Curbans. Malaup is a mountain in the vicinity of Curbans.

Culture and History

At the top of the village stands the Oratoire Sainte-Anne, on an elevated site surrounded by flowers where the roads to Tallard and Urtis meet. At the foot of the village is the Chapelle Saint-Pierre, a Romanesque building whose earliest traces date back to the 11th century. The Chapelle Saint-Pierre has been closed since the 1990s.

The village church became the seat of the parish in the 17th century and replaced the Saint-Pierre church during the rebuilding. The Oratoire Sainte Barbe overlooks the lake.

The Château de Tallard is a castle in the immediate surroundings of Curbans. Saint-Pierre is a church in the immediate surroundings of Curbans. The Sanctuaire Notre-Dame du Laus is a sanctuary in the vicinity of Curbans, and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Arnoux is a church in the vicinity of Curbans.

Routes

Aventure No. 5 “Les ordres monastiques, au nom du Père” is a one-day, 90-kilometre route on foot and by car. Two routes of the Sentier des Contes begin at the Curbans-La Saulce bridge.
