The Chabrières climbing area comprises around ten sectors and approximately one hundred climbing routes. It combines many slabs of solid, compact limestone with more heavily sculpted walls.

Nature
The ZNIEFF “Clue de Chabrières – Partie Sud” is a type 1 natural area located within the municipalities of Beynes and Entrages. It consists of massive Kimmeridgian and Portlandian limestone, which has formed large vertical rock walls and remarkable steep slopes.
The golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) is one of the breeding or probably breeding species in the “Clue de Chabrières – Partie Sud”. In the L’Asse Natura 2000 site, only the riverbed and its associated riparian woodland are located below the Clue de Chabrières.
Geology
Chabrières has long been known as an extremely fossil-rich reference outcrop of the Upper Jurassic. The Chabrières geological site is difficult and dangerous to access because of its proximity to the road and the Provence railway line.
Getting around
The Chabrières climbing area can be reached by crossing the mountain stream via a footbridge and following a winding path for about ten minutes.
The “Cyclo n°6 – Le col du Corobin” cycle tour leads to Mézel through the Clue de Chabrières and is rated difficult.
In the vicinity of Chabrières, the hike to the hamlet of Creisset is reached via the N85 in the direction of Barrême; two kilometres after the village of Chabrières, turn right onto the track.
